Akhil loses out in Quarter Finals but two more Indians in Quarterfinal

August 18, 2008 By: admin Category: India, Sports No Comments →

Much anticipated Akhil Kumar lost to Moldovan Gojan Veaceslav in a rather one sided match. Akhil who was epitome of confidence after beating defending world champion from Russia had made many to watchout for him.The result was a shock to many in Indian camp as his quarterfinal opponent was not popular boxer either.

But two other Indians have the quarter finals of Boxing in Beijing. Jitender (51kg) and Vijender (75kg) remain in the fray for their respective quarterfinals on wednesday.

India has been having a dismal olympics after a sole gold medal from shooting.
