It appears Musharraf has entered into an understanding with the elected government that he wont be charged under any sections and he will be immune against prosecution for his bloodless coup in 1998.
Though many in the ruling Government was crying for his impeachment, the army didn’t like the concept of impeachment. Despite staying neutral in this issue, army preferred a better treatment to their former General.
Immediately after the elected Government came to power there were Bomblasts in Indian embassy in Kabul and also various parts of India. Many intelligence agencies have reported that these attacks were handiwork of ISI, which was tightly kept under the leash by General Musharraf.
